Building Much More Than a Menz Shed
Help us create a permanent home for the Amberley Menz Shed, Amberley Repair Café, and a Community Repair, Education and Sustainability Hub for the Hurunui District.

Our Vision
The Amberley Menz Shed will always be at the heart of this project. However, our vision extends beyond creating a workshop for our members. We are working towards establishing a purpose-built facility at the Amberley BMX site that will serve as the permanent home of the Amberley Menz Shed while also supporting community repair, education, sustainability, and wellbeing initiatives.
The facility will provide a permanent base for the Amberley Repair Café, creating a place where practical skills can be shared, valuable items repaired rather than discarded, and people of all ages can come together to learn, contribute, and connect. By bringing these activities together under one roof, we can preserve valuable skills, reduce waste, strengthen community connections, and create a more resilient and sustainable future for the Hurunui District.
Why it matters
A permanent home
A secure, purpose-built facility providing a long-term base for the Amberley Menz Shed, Repair Café, and community activities.
Community Connection
Reducing isolation, improving wellbeing, and creating opportunities for people to connect, learn, and contribute.
Growing Community Participation
By expanding our activities and facilities, we can engage more people of all ages and backgrounds, creating new opportunities to learn, connect, volunteer, and contribute to the community.
